Project Description:

This project includes consulting services, studies, review of the design of the propane and butane export pipelines at Site 1 and its adaptation to the needs and conditions of the refineries, and feasibility studies for the construction of a new transmission line to the pier.

The South Pars Complex gas refineries include separation and sweetening units, as well as propane and butane separation units separately and their cold storage at atmospheric pressure. The refineries send their produced propane and butane to piers 14 and 15 through pumps located inside the storage tanks. Propane product is stored at a temperature of -42.6 degrees Celsius and a pressure of 1.01 bar absolute, and butane product is stored at a temperature of -6.7 degrees Celsius and a pressure of 1.01 bar absolute in storage tanks.

In the meantime, the importance and sensitivity of observing the timing of transfer and loading will play a decisive role in preventing damage due to increased waiting time for ships carrying this product.

The most important factors affecting the increase in fluid temperature upon arrival at the dock and consequently the increase in loading time include damage to the insulation of the return transfer lines, low fluid speed during cooling, the absence of a return vapor compressor at the dock, and the ship's vapor compressor not being in service.

In this project, experts from Aali Nam Company, in addition to several stages of site visits and expert discussions with various elements of the esteemed employer and studies and process and hydraulic simulation of the existing lines, attempted to identify the main factors of the above-mentioned problems and prepare a justification report to suggest ways out of the aforementioned problems.

Another part of this project includes conducting technical feasibility studies and constructing Economical is a new 24 inch joint line for propane and butane products

Scope of work:

  • Project feasibility studies based on existing process information and process and hydraulic simulations
  • Preparation and delivery of a report package of justification of existing conditions and feasibility report of proposed solutions
